This Easter weekend I loosely planned our activities, and it ended up working out really well. In fact, I didn’t even think about Easter brunch until about 6 pm on Saturday and quickly googled “Kroger hours,” thankfully finding it was going to be open early that morning. After a whirlwind Saturday, we enjoyed a slow Sunday morning opening Easter baskets and a family Easter egg hunt in the backyard. I’m sharing some of our family pictures and our favorite festivities below.
What was your favorite Easter memory this year?
It just so happened that the Ohio State Spring game was this weekend, so we got together with several other Florida friends for a tailgate. I made my regular veggie pizza, and headed out a little early because Beau and Shep desperately needed naps. Our family joined up in time for the Easter Egg Hunt at the NACC on the big green lawn. Shep LOVED it but kept wanting to stop and eat the candy out of every new egg he found. We enjoyed dinner there and kept praying Beau wouldn’t pull the white table cloth off the table.
Shep and I read God Gave Us Easter, and while it was a little long and possibly had too many details for this age, it was the perfect book to open up the topic of what Easter is all about. Shep asked lots of questions and we summarized the Easter story for him in ways that made sense for his age (Jesus is a superhero, He wants to be your friend forever!)
We headed to church at Five14 here in New Albany, and I was blown away by the service. Beautiful, powerful music and message. It was definitely the highlight of our Easter.
For Sunday dinner I found this one-pan Easter dinner I was all ready to make. Then I chatted with my friend and she said she was making the same one so we decided to eat together since it was way too much food for one family anyways. It turned out absolutely delicious and I’m planning to make it another night outside of Easter I loved it so much. After dinner all of our neighborhood kids were outside playing in the gorgeous weather, and I couldn’t have figured a better way to wrap up the weekend.
Now it’s all about getting caught back up on naps and into our normal routine. Have a great week everyone!
