Weekends leave me feeling completely full and exhausted. Gotta work on that. But at least this weekend sort of feels like a long one with trick-or-treating tonight. Shep is so excited to be an astronaut and for his little brother to be his alien (and blast off into space! but not sure how we’re accomplishing that last part yet). Here’s a little glimpse into our weekend and our memories as a family of four:
One of my longtime friends from middle school/high school invited us to tailgate with her family and parents at the Ohio State vs. Northwestern game. Little fact – I went to OSU my first semester of college, and this was the first time I had been down there since I left. What a strange but fun feeling. And that was 12 years ago. 12 years. If that doesn’t make me feel old …
Clint and I a blast together and with Jenna’s family. Thankfully my mom was home with the boys who were STILL sick, but on the upswing. There’s something comforting about your mom taking care of your kiddos than a sitter, and I never knew this luxury until now. We got home in time for dinner with them and ordered our new favorite local pizza, Jet’s.
We’re still on a church hunt, and decided to keep the boys home one more weekend since neither of them were 100% yet. We carved pumpkins, explored a new playground (Millstone Creek Park in Westerville), ate at Noodles & Co and played in leaves.
Later on Beau was my running buddy and we saw what was left of the fall foliage. I can’t believe how quickly the leaves turn and then fall. Here are some pics from my run – I would stop and take pictures throughout like I’m some sort of tourist.
I’m looking forward to our week ahead of doing more exciting things with the boys since last week was spent mostly cooped up inside. We had fun drawing, playing and cuddling, but I think we all started to get a little stir crazy.
How was your weekend?
Here are a few of Shep’s favorites lately in case you’re also on the hunt for fall toddler items. And note: the astronaut costume is about 50% off if you are thinking about next year already like I am!
