Are you someone that shops all year long and finishes shopping by October, or do you do it all in December? I think I fall somewhere in the middle. I think shopping in December is part of the fun, and I love seeing what types of Black Friday deals come out in November. So when Three Boys and a Girl, The Davis Duo & Life as the Mrs. told me about their upcoming gift guide linkup, I thought it would be so fun join in and get some new ideas myself! I’m sharing some of my favorite gift ideas for BOYS (because that’s what I know!), both for preschool-age like Shep, and toddler-age like Beau. Here’s my gift guide for Baby’s First Christmas I did last year, and many of those picks are still great options if you have a little baby.
My favorite Christmas shopping tip I’ve read was recently in a Real Simple magazine: buy them something they need, something they want, something to wear and something to read. After opening four gifts my boys start to just get crazy with the wrapping paper and forget to even look at the gifts. I also love buying gifts that have staying power — so these picks are either special things I’ve recently seen in shops, or toys my boys have that I’ve seen them play with time and time again. Nothing is more disappointing than giving a child a gift who doesn’t show any interest.
With that said, I can’t wait for the holidays to be here (I’m already singing Christmas songs with the boys), and it will be our first year to get a real Christmas tree (not to mention, I’m getting a tree bump pic, I’ve never done that before even though I’ve always been pregnant during Christmas with both Beau and Shep)! Shep’s age is so fun with holidays, and I know this one is going to be a special one for our family. Here are my holiday gift ideas for little boys. What’s on your list this year? I’m still shopping, so I’d love any ideas!
Happy Shopping 🙂
