Last weekend I went to Brooklyn to see Laura’s new apartment and for us all to enjoy wedding dress shopping together. It was a quick, but enjoyable weekend and I absolutely loved Brooklyn (I’ve never been there before!) The quieter streets, neighborhood feel and vibrant shops were surprising and refreshing for what I knew Manhattan to be. Laura’s new apartment was open and spacious and I know her and Corbin are going to make some great memories there. They are getting married next July in Beacon, New York, and we’re counting down the days for the amazing celebration.
We started at the bridal salon Lovely in Tribeca and Laura found several she loved there. I think we were all certain from the beginning she looked amazing in all the dresses (she is by far the tallest of us sisters). It’s fun now doing dress shopping and thinking back to when I got married (why does that seem SOOO long ago!) Here’s my wedding dress, and I remember trying on a lot less than Laura did. Part of me wishes I would have spent a little more time enjoying this stage in wedding planning. But I still do look back and love the way this one looked. It was simple but special! How is this almost six years ago!?
Then we had an amazing brunch at Tipsy Parson. If you are in Manhattan, get the Biscuit Bomb (sausage, cheddar, tomato jam on massive biscuit!). We spent time walking around local shops before our 1:45 appointment at the legendary Kleinfeld. The stylist there was so refreshing and helpful, I know Laura got lots of great advice there. I’m keeping the secret on where/if she Said Yes to the Dress 🙂
We were all pretty exhausted by then, but grabbed drinks and food at Elmo before heading back and resting before dinner. The next morning we walked around Brooklyn Heights (where I found those GORGEOUS mums!) before heading to the airport. I was so excited to be back with the boys!
On Saturday we shopped at Sephora for a good chunk of time, and figured I’d share some of the sister favorites (I always go to my sisters for beauty advice!)
Fresh Rose Eye Cream. I love this light texture that feels refreshing the second you apply it.
Nars Turkish Delight Lip Gloss This new color is perfect for daytime but adds enough pink to stand out.
Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo Jessi swears by this dry shampoo, and I loved the smell of it.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Aurora Glow Kit I love this kit for a night out, it adds gorgeous highlights.
Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lip Stick in Fig I have been wearing this one almost daily — it’s a beautiful pink neutral.
