Have you found your favorite podcasts yet? Are you looking for some new podcasts to enjoy?
Podcasts got my attention when Serial came out several years ago — I realized listening to a podcast was relaxing, interesting and could be done while walking a baby in a stroller, during my commute, or even playing in the playroom while we were upstairs. My sisters listen to podcasts constantly mostly because they are commuting in major cities, and they are always talking about them. So to keep up with conversation I started to listen to more of them myself. Here are the best podcasts, according to my very hip sisters Wendy, Laura and Jessica and my friends (and, the Parenting podcasts are from moi!):
Focus on the Family Daily Broadcast
This podcast has Christian-based parenting principles and topics that translate to real-world ways to help you be a better parent. Love time listener here!
This one is a no-frills look at different questions moms have about pregnancy, labor and taking care of a newborn. I learned so much about breastfeeding, overall health during pregnancy and lots more with this podcast, often in a Q&A format.
The Birth Hour
If you are pregnant, this podcast is super motivating no matter what type of childbirth is ahead of you. Women tell their childbirth stories, and many of them had me in (happy) tears.
Mom and Dad Made a Podcast
A hilarious real-life look at parenting by a mom and a dad told from their kitchen table. Doesn’t get more real than that!
Mom Blog School
From the bloggers at Today’s the Best Day, they have amazing, relevant tips to improving your blogging and social media tactics. This one probably tops my list as one of the best for mom bloggers.
The Blog Millionaire
Successful strategies to grow your blog — lots of different focus areas in each podcast.
If you are looking for podcasts specifically to inspire you or help you grow your blog, I highly suggest this list from Working Mom Magic!
Up and Vanished
This podcast dives into an unsolved disappearance of a Georgia beauty queen. Suspenseful, sad and addicting.
This is an oldie from 2015, but an incredibly suspenseful sci-fi story. I’m really hoping a season two or another version comes out, I miss this one!
Entertaining & Inspiring
Juicy Scoop – Heather McDonald
This one is Wendy’s favorite and I started to listen to it and I was in tears laughing. There’s a real following behind this podcast, and if you are into Brave pop culture, you’ll like it. Fair warning: Not kid-friendly for carpool.
Helpful, real-life business tactics and tips to improve productivity, among so many other tips that ultimately make you feel smarter in topics that matter (from the author of 4-Hour Workweek).
Missing Richard Simmons
My new favorite – an intriguing look at what might have happened with Richard Simmons stepping out of the public light. It’s a lot more complicated than you think, and his life has been a lot more impactful to people than I ever realized.
Dave Ramsey Show
Whether your financial goals are paying down debt, sticking to a budget or creating wealth, this podcast has really helpful, simple tips to help you accomplish them.
